Long lofted Passing Drill: Coaching Points
Approach - slightly from the side (angle)
Body shape - plant foot slightly away and back from the ball
Contact - foot should make contact just under the center of the ball - contact on the foot top of the foot base of the toe
Follow through - big and high follow through to gain height and power

Playes performing the long lofted pass need to loft the ball over the middle players to their partner. The ball is then controlled, passed into the player close to them and back for their turn at a long lofted pass.
Players are peforming short passes along the ground and then long lofted passes. Rotate players to practice both long and short.

Two strikers - two midfielders - one defender
Defender playing a long lofted pass into one of the strikers - who control the ball and play it back (lay it off) into the midfielder supporting them - the midfielder switches the play passing the ball into the other striker to finish on goal.
